Collection relating to service of 19618 Bombardier Ernest Oswald Collett, 29 Battery, 8 Australian Field Artillery Brigade, England and France, 1916-1917. Collection contains some of the letters written by Collett home to his family in Melbourne, VIC.

History / Summary

Biographical note: Served with the 29th Battery, 8th Australian Field Artillery, AIF. Died 28 September 1917 from effects of gas poisoning at Zonnebeke. Tramways clerk of East Malvern, VIC. Born Malvern, VIC, educated Tooronga Road State School; was a member of the senior cadets, A.M.F.; enlisted 17 July 1915. Age at time of death 20 years 4 months.
