Collection relating to the First World War service of Lieutenant Stanley Vincent Dolton, 45th Infantry Battalion, France, 1916. Collection includes photostat copies of three letters sent home to family in Australia. Copies made in 1928 by the Australian War Memorial and bound into file cover, along with biographical details. Location of originals unknown. A typed transcript has been provided as reference material and for ease of reading.
History / Summary
Biographical note: Served with the 45th Battalion, AIF. Killed in action Gueudecourt Sector of Somme battlefield, 20 November 1916. Warehouseman, of Woollahra, NSW, born Croydon, NSW, educated at Fort Street School, Sydney, served for eight years in the NSW Naval Brigade, age at time of death, 25.
