Description
Collection relating to service of 2298 Gunner Frank Garth, 24 Field Artillery Brigade, AIF, Gallipoli, 1915. Collection consists of one letter to his mother, which describes his wounding in action during the charge on Hill 971 and evacuation to the hospital ship Delta.
History / Summary
Biographical note: 2298 Gunner Frank Garth, 24 Australian Field Artillery Brigade, AIF, compositor and printer, of Perth, WA; born Dover, England, educated at Eglington Road School, Woolwich, Kent, England; came to Australia when 13 years old; joined the AIF on 19 June 1915; age at time of death 18 years 4 months. Killed in action on 10 December 1916 in the Flers sector.
