Gill, Reginald Henry (Captain, d.1917)
Collection relating to service of Captain Reginald Henry Gill, 28 Battalion AIF, Flanders and France. Collection consists of two letters written by Gill to his wife in Australia, between June 1917 and August 1917.
Biographical note: Captain Reginald Henry Gill, MC, 28 Battalion, AIF, who was killed (probably at Reninghelst) on 28 September 1917. Accountant (formerly an officer of the P. & O. S.S. Company); of Fremantle, WA; born Putney, London, 2 September 1883; came to Australia when 23 years old; educated at 'Ovingdean' and 'Worcestor' schools, England; appointed 2nd Lieutenant in AIF on 16 June 1915 and posted to 7 Reinforcements of 28 Battalion; 20 June 1916 taken on strength of 28 Battalion; 21 August 1916, promoted Lieutenant; 1 October 1916, Captain.
