Collection relating to service of Captain John Keith Henderson, 13 Battalion, AIF (and previously of Australian Naval & Military Expeditionary Force, New Guinea), New Guinea, Gallipoli & France, 1914-1916 .
History / Summary
Biographical note: Captain, 13th Bn, AIF, who had early gone to New Guinea with the 1st Battalion, AN&MEF (Australian Naval & Military Expeditionary Force). Killed in action on 14 August 1916 at Pozieres. Other biographical details concerning him are: dental surgeon; of Sydney, NSW; born London; arrived in Australia when 1 year old; educated at Sydney Grammar School and the University of Sydney; age at time of death, 24. (His brother also served in the AIF, and survived the war.)
