Hunter, Foster (Private, b.1890 - d.1917)
Collection relating to the service of 5423 Private Foster Hunter, 2 Field Ambulance AAMC, France, Belgium, 1915-1917. Collection consists of typewritten copies of three letters written by Private Foster Hunter to his mother in England. Location of original letters unknown.
This collection reveals Private Foster Hunter to have been an extremely pious and devout Christian who, although exempt from military service, chose to enlist. He appears to have become disillusioned with the military hierarchy during the course of his service.
