Hunter, Robert Clive (Lieutenant, b.1892 - d.1916)
Collection relating to the service of Lieutenant Robert Clive Hunter, 12 Light Horse Regiment and 2 Battalion AIF, Holdsworthy, at sea, Egypt, Gallipoli, France, 1915-1916. Collection consists of typewritten copies of letters from Lieutenant Hunter to his mother and father in NSW. Typescript copies made by Lieutenant Robert Clive Hunter's family. Location of originals unknown.
Biographical note: Lieutenant Robert Clive Hunter, 2 Battalion AIF. Solicitor; of Forbes, NSW; born Wandary Station, Forbes; educated at Cooerwell Academy, Bowenfels, NSW; joined the AIF on 27 April 1915 as a Private; served with the 12th Light Horse Regiment as a Sergeant until the evacuation of Gallipoli, when he transferred to the 2nd Battalion as an officer; killed in action in the Fleurbaix sector, 13 June 1916, aged 24.
