Description
Collection relating to the service of Major John Shaw Mackay MC, AAMC, AIF, Egypt, Gallipoli, Western Front, 1915-1919. Collection consists of photostat copies of forty-one letters written by Mackay to various members of his family, between January 1915 and March 1919. Photostat copies made by Australian War Memorial. Location of originals unknown. Also see 1DRL/0443 for letters written by his brother Private Kenneth Scott Mackay; and 1DRL/0445 for letters written by his brother Gunner Ronald Grey MacKay.
