Collection consists of one letter written by Lieutenant Christopher Richard Mahony to his brother Jack, and one letter of condolence from Lt. Colonel John Farrell, commander of the 43rd Battalion, to Lieutenant Mahony's brother.

Biographical note: Lieutenant Christopher Richard Mahony, 43 Battalion, AIF. Insurance clerk; of Adelaide, SA, born Hyde Park, SA; educated at Christian Brothers College, Adelaide, served in the Citizen Forces; was a keen footballer, cricketer and baseballer; joined the AIF on 18 January 1916; killed in action at Mont St. Quentin, 1 September 1918, aged 22.
