Biographical note: 4929 Private Henry Anthony Beresford Maning, 60 Battalion, AIF. Clerk, of Caulfield, Victoria, born Gippsland, Victoria, educated at the Church of England Grammar School, Melbourne; was rejected on four occasions before finally accepted for the AIF on 25 September 1915; killed in action in the Battle of Fromelles, 19 July 1916, aged 22. Son of Marcus Anthony and Louisa Maning, of Sumner, Bambra Road, Caulfield, Victoria.
