Collection relating to the Second World War service and POW experience of NX33055 Driver Willoby Vincent Wharton, H.Q. Coy 2/20 Battalion, A.I.F., 1939-1945.

Wallet 1 of 1 contains:
A diary kept by Wharton during his service in the war and imprisonment at Changi. It outlines his movements as well as wider developments during the war, his experiences as a POW, nominal rolls and his personal poetry. Contained in the diary is a Mahjongg card gifted at Christmas 1943.

An autograph book signed by Australian servicemen and Changi POWs providing their addresses. Includes illustrations, messages, anecdotes and nominal rolls.

A 1939 pocket-sized copy of the New Testament.

Medical notes relating to Wharton's admittance to and discharge from Changi hospital, 1943-1944.
