Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of Captain (later Vice Admiral) John Collings Taswell Glossop CB. The collection consist of two signal logs with the messages, 'Emden beached and done for', and 'Enemy has beached herself to avoid sinking' sent by Captain Glossop aboard HMAS Sydney following the destruction of SMS Emden off the Cocos Keeling Islands on 9 November 1914.
