Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of Captain John Collings Taswell Glossop, HMAS Sydney. Collection consists of 14 reports submitted to Captain Glossop by officers of HMAS Sydney on the action with SMS Emden off the Cocos Keeling Islands on 9 November 1914. The reports relate to damage control, crew efficiency, ammunition supplies and assistance offered to survivors of the stricken German vessel.
