Description
Manuscript written by Private Bill Young 'Return to a dark age' describing his experiences as prisoner of war of the Japanese during the Second World War. Young writes about his enlistment, training, action in Malaya with the 2/29 Battalion and his incarceration at Changi Gaol. Young was later transported to Borneo on the Ubi Maru where he worked on the construction of an airfield. Young's manuscript also details his imprisonment at Kemepi tai at Kuching Prisoner of War Camp and Outram Road Gaol.
