Petty Officers badge with three good conduct stripes: Petty Officer Stoker R D Gilmore, Royal Australian Navy
Description
Black wool rank badge embroidered in red cotton with the insignia of Petty Officer in the form of two crossed anchors surmounted by a King's Crown. Underneath the badge is attached three good conduct stripes made of red woven cotton stitched onto a black wool background. The stripes are in the shape of cheverons.
History / Summary
Associated with 19418 Petty Officer Stoker Ronald David Gilmore, Royal Australian Navy. Gilmore served in HMAS Yarra and in HMAS Warrego in 1941. His later death was accepted as being due to his wartime service.
