Description

Printed cotton patriotic handkerchief. The cloth has an outer border of red and yellow printed chains and an inner border of khaki dots. A circle at each corner contains the Union Jack. Rising from the bottom left hand circle is the Australian flag and a red ensign with a coat of arms. Rising from the bottom right hand corner is the New Zealand flag and a red ensign with a different coat of arms. Printed on the cloth is a picture of two sailors standing on top of a partially emerged E13 submarine, pointing and looking into the distance. In the background are two steam ships, and two seaplanes fly overhead. The words '..OUR BRAVE HEROES..ON GUARD..' are printed on the top left hand corner. A small 'A' has been embroidered with red thread on the bottom right hand corner.
