Description
British First World War poster issued by the National War Savings Committee (Poster No. 84). One of several posters which use portraits and quotes from speeches by iconic British military leaders to promote the sale of war bonds. This poster features a three-quarter length portrait of the Duke of Wellington (1769-1852) in the upper half set within a black frame against a pale green background. He is wearing full uniform. In the background are the battle fields of Waterloo. The title is printed in black above and below the image and is an adapted version of a quote of the Duke of Wellington 'Up Guards and at them again' recorded during the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.
