History / Summary
Awarded to L51800 Wing Commander Margaret Lynn Baxter. Baxter was a clerk in the Navy Department at Fremantle before she joined the WRAAF in 1952. She was commissioned in 1955 and appointed Flight Officer on 1 January 1959. For the period between the late 1950s and mid 1960, she was officer-in-charge of the WRAAF at the Melbourne Telecommunications Unit. In September 1964 she was appointed officer-in-charge of WRAAF at Pearce, Western Australia. Baxter retired from the WRAAF in 1987 after 35 years of service.
