Description
Gilt and enamel oval shaped lapel pin badge of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals. The badge shows a silver figure of the Roman God, Mercury in the centre. The colours light blue, navy and green, indicating air, sea and land service form the background. Beneath the figure of Mercury, is a small scroll, a globe and an inverted boomerang in gold, with 'AUSTRALIA' printed within it.
History / Summary
Associated with the service of NX179838 Captain Lauchlan Duart Maclean. Maclean was born in Sydney on 3 February 1925 and trained as an officer at Duntroon under the cadet number 2395. He enlisted for service with the Second Australian Imperial Force on 13 December 1944.
