Identified left to right: Thomas Arthur Newcombe, 2nd Leicester Regiment, born in 1900 in Bristol, England, who served with the Australian Army during the Second World War; Lance Bombardier H J Anderson, 5th Canadian Regiment. Anderson is wearing hospital uniform; his right leg is amputated, presumably as a result of war injuries.
