Description

Collection relating to the First World War service of Lt John Adams MM & Bar, 54th Battalion. Collections consists of a diary covering the period August 1914 to September 1917. Entries include training at Victoria Barracks in Sydney, service at Gallipoli and the Western Front including the Somme. Also included are five letters relating to awards; one list of names for the thirteenth and fourteenth section; typed account of injuries suffered by Adams (1915-1918); and a photograph of soldier taken in Gueudecourt on the Somme, 1916.

Lt John Adams served on Gallipoli for the entire campaign, landing on 25 April 1915 and evacuating on 20 December 1915.
