Bell Iroquois UH-1H helicopters of 9 Squadron, RAAF, line up for refuelling at the Kangaroo Pad, the main helicopter landing zone (LZ) within the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF). Adjoining Luscombe air field, this main air base was located 28 km north east of Vung Tau. Fuel lines edge the strip appearing diagonally from left to right. To the west, the Nui Dinh mountain range is visible in the distance. (Colour version of the same image is held at P02975.056).
