Description
Miniature split rattan broom head, without handle, in a traditional 'witch's broom' shape. The bristles are bound at the head with fine copper wire.
History / Summary
This box of miniature brooms was presented to the Australian commanding officer in Changi, Lieutenant Colonel F G 'Black Jack' Galleghan. Prisoners who were members of the Royal Australian Artilley were responsible for the Changi Broom Factory, and the 'Ubique' brand name reflects the Artillery motto. The factory began production on 1 April 1942.
