Description

Sterling silver watch fob with engraved detail around the edge. At the centre of the fob is a shield engraved '2ND A.I.BDE FOOTBALL BELGIUM 1919'. The reverse of the fob is engraved 'FOOTBALL 4309 C.Q.M.S J.S. STEVENS. D.C.M. 6TH BATTN. A.I.F'.

History / Summary

Worn by 4309 Company Quartermaster Sergeant James Stanley Stevens. Born on 31 March, 1893, Stevens enlisted in the AIF on 16 July 1915 serving with 6 Battalion in France and his actions here, particularly in Hargicourt, earned him a Distinguished Conduct Medal in 1919. Stevens returned to Australia on 4 July 1919.
