Improvised shelter built of sandbags roofed with curved iron, near Mametz Wood, on the Somme. It was used by members of the 56th Battery of the Australian Field Artillery during the winter of 1916-1917. Left to right: 3518B Bombardier Edward George Day; Lieutenant Jose, and Gunner Reynolds.
