Description
At the International Post. These posts were established where the Australians linked up with the French troops. They were garrisoned partly by Australians and partly by the French to ensure sound liaison. At left is Private Parkin, 37th Battalion, standing in the trench on the front line post with an unidentified French soldier. In the background, left, is a British tank occupied by Germans, in the centre is the Australian wire and recessed into the trench is a box of ready access hand grenades.
