Description
Troops of the 1st Division passing through the 15th Infantry Brigade near Harbonnieres, to take over the newly captured front lines on the night before the attack on Lyons and just after a tank had cleared the way for the 15th Brigade to advance past the line of low bushes, seen on the right, in which machine guns of Germans held up the infantry. General Elliot had been wounded by a snipers bullet that morning during the attack. The infantry came in artillery formation but went into extended order just after passing the camera. The bank running to the left is the railway line to Harbonnieres. In the centre, background are tanks returning from attack. Map Ref. (1:40,000) 62d.W24.b.central.
