Description
A camouflaged German 15 cm S.K. L/40 naval gun in Grace Wood, near Morcourt, photographed soon after its capture by the 45th Battalion in the advance of 8 August 1918. The dugouts previously occupied by the gun crew are alongside. An unidentified Australian soldier stands in the foreground. This gun is probably No 505, which was brought back to Australia as a war trophy and presented to Woollahra.
