Description
View of the village the morning after the attack on Monument Wood. At the time the 46th Battalion was resting in the dugouts in the valley in the foreground, in an area free from German observation, but not altogether from shellfire. Along the track through the valley horsedrawn vehicles could approach to within 400 yards of the front line by a short cut from the Bois l'Abbe and the Amiens Road. This is the centre image in a three part panorama. See E04829P for the combined image.
