Description
A view of the ruined farmhouse which was the 11th Battalion's first objective in an advance on 2 June 1918, taken from the second objective, Mont-de-Merris, a hill situated between the villages of Strazeele and Merris. The advance was successful, though the battalion's casualties numbered over 90. Prior to its capture the farmhouse had been a formidable enemy strongpoint.
