Harbour boom defence
Description
RAN Boom Working Vessels (BWV) and crews working on the maintenance of the anti-submarine boom defence net and buoys across Darwin Harbour. This boom was one of the longest in the world (4 miles). Boom Working Vessels at Darwin January 1943: HMAS Koala, HMAS Kangaroo, HMAS Karangi.
