Generals visit Sanananda and presentation of medals to natives by General Vasey
Description
Generals E.F. Herring, CBE DSO MC ED, G.A. Vasey, CB CBE DSO, and S.G. Savige, CB CBE, DSO MC ED, visit Sanananda. They travelled as far as possible along the Sanananda road by jeep, then on foot along jungle track to inspect positions held by the enemy the previous day. Also shows General Vasey presenting loyal service medals to ten natives at Soputa, watched by about 800 natives, their wives and children. Royal Papuan Constabulary formed guard of honour.
