No 3 Squadron returns to Butterworth
Description
This item covers the return of aircraft of No. 3 Squadron to RAAF base, Butterworth, Malaysia. The Squadron had previously been stationed in Malaysia from October 1958 until March 1967, when it returned to Australia to re-equip with Mirage aircraft. It returned to Butterworth in March 1969 to replace No. 77 Squadron, already stationed at Butterworth, welcomed the returning squadron. Wing Commander Ted Radford of Newcastle NSW shakes hands with Air Commodore G. Steege.
