7 RAR ambush DPR/TV/1278
Description
Army Reporter 1200483 Captain Winston Coates interviews members of 7 Platoon, ‘C’ Coy, of the 7th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment, following an early morning ambush and the capture of a wounded Viet Cong guerrilla found in a haystack at Dat Do. In order of appearance, they are: 313433 Private Eric John Bardsley, of Bondi, NSW; 44958 Private Eric Elmar 'Elmar' Held, of Mitcham, South Australia; 44111 Private Russell John McDonald, tracker dog handler 6 RAR with Trojan; section leader 2791410 Corporal Robert John Andrews, 7 RAR, of Parramatta, NSW, and 218450 Lance Corporal Arthur John Gibson, Holdsworthy, NSW. The soldier walking behind Corporal Andrews is 219358 Private Noel William Cooper also of 7 Platoon.
