Australian exchange troops leave RAAF Richmond Airbase for New Zealand DPR/TV/1527

Southern command contingent boarded RNZAF C130 Hercules, at approximately 12.15 p.m. 15 October 1972 at Laverton, Vic, which then picked up the main party at RAAF Base Richmond, NSW. Plane departed approximately 1550 hrs. Arrived Whenuapai RNZAF Base, approximately 20 miles north of Auckland, 2110 hrs. There Australians met by Brigadier M. Gurr, Commander 1 NZ Infantry Brigade Group embussed to Papakura Military Training Camp, approximately 18 miles south of Auckland, NZ.
