DescriptionCoverage of the Civic reception for Frank John Partridge VC in High Street Bowraville where the Nambucca Shire Council Chambers was situated. Opens with title 'Finchaven hero'. A high angle long shot looking down on the motorcade. A brass band leads the motorcade followed by Frank Partridge VC standing in the back of a jeep. Vehicles decorated in streamers and palm fronds follow the jeep. Ground level view of the motorcade. The jeep comes to a stop in the street which is lined with local dignitaries and veterans. Medium shot of Frank Partridge VC in uniform at attention at the Nambucca Shire Chambers. Speeches by Shire President Tom Lamph, Colonel Paterson [wearing blue suit] and Dr Earl Page the Federal Member for the seat of Cowper. Crowd applauding the speakers. Though the original film title is 'Finchaven hero' the action for which Frank Partridge was awarded the Victoria Cross was in the attack and capture of Base 5, Bougainville 24 July 1945.
