The 15th Australian Infantry Brigade's military gymkhana was held on the Donadabu Sports ground on New Year's Day 1944. The Commander New Guinea Force, NX8 Lieutenant General Sir Leslie Morshead KCB, KBE, CMG, DSO, ED and Major General E J Milford DSO attended. VX132876 Private Sydney Redmond Tudor 57/60th Battalion, winner of the wood chop. Four and forty yards event, won by VX137507 Corporal Ronald Walter Leishman.
