Description

Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey. 28 June 1915. The British attacked at Cape Helles and the forces at Anzac had to make a diversion to keep the Turks on their sector occupied. Ross' gun of Hughes' Battery is shown in action. The gun was firing direct at about 1700 yards in full view of the Turks, who directed three shells on to its emplacements, one of which damaged the gun.
