Description
Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey. c. 1 July 1915. Anzac Cove as it was at the end of June and early in July 1915 - a hive of activity. Here had to be landed, under the gun-fire of the enemy forts, all the material to feed both men and guns. The Army Corps Headquarters was situated near the base of the pier in the centre. New Zealand Headquarters were situated up the hill on the left, and 1st Australian Division Headquarters were up the hill on the right.
