Description
Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey. November 1915. Sari Bair Range from Chunuk Bair to Baby 700. Chunuk Bair is to the left, but not included in it, Battleship Hill half-way up the distant slope on the right and Baby 700 and Nek further to the right, but not included in the picture. It was into this confused country that the main attack of 6 August 1915 to 10 August 1915, was made. During the night of 6 and 7 August, New Zealand Mounted Rifles had to clear the Turks out of all the foothills. At dawn the next day attacks were to begin on the main summits.
