Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey. 9 August 1915. In the evening of the day a British force was to land at Suvla Bay. The whole of the plain at that time was in possession of the Turks. Suvla Bay is situated at the further end of the curve in the coastline at a point immediately above the moored vessel. An Anzac position is in the right foreground.
