Flight Sergeant Alexander John Hunter
Description
Alexander John Hunter enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force on 27 April 1943. He trained as a pilot in Australia, and was assigned to 82 Squadron in June 1945. Flight Sergeant Hunter served with 82 Squadron in the Netherlands East Indies. On 29 September 1945, Flight Sergeant Hunter failed to return from a non-operational flight at Labuan, Borneo. It was presumed that he had crashed into the sea or jungle. No trace of the aircraft or pilot was found. Flight Sergeant Hunter is commemorated at Labuan Memorial.
