Private Leonard Thomas Lynch

Leonard (Len) Lynch initially enlisted on 11 July 1940, at Royal Park, Victoria. He was discharged four months later on 19 November 1940, following his mother's discovery that he'd lied about his age. Less than a year later, on 8 September 1941, he re-enlisted and although he again gave a false year of birth, he served for the remainder of the war. He embarked with the 9th Division, arriving in the Middle East, Palestine. He later served in Papua New Guinea, after the fall of Singapore. His final posting was with the 127 Australian General Transport Company, as a Driver.
