Gunner Trevor John Eiszele
Description
Gunner Trevor John 'Jacky' Eiszele enlisted in the Second Australian Imperial Force in Hobart, Tasmania on 30 September 1941. He first served with 2/9 Australian Armoured Regiment in Puckapunyal, Victoria. He was posted to Singleton, New South Wales at the start of 1943. In 1944 they moved to Atherton Tablelands, Queensland. He was posted to Morotai, Indonesia on the 21 April 1945, and then served in Borneo. On 18 September 1945, Gunner Eiszele was listed as missing presumed dead, amongst 28 other servicemen travelling on board an aircraft from Biak Island, New Guinea to Higgins Field, Queensland. Gunner Trevor John 'Jacky' Eiszele's remains were found and buried at Port Moresby War Cemetery, New Guinea on 26 January 1971.
