Captain Lewis Ritchie MacLeod
Description
Captain 'Lew' MacLeod served with the Royal Australian Army Nursing Corps as a Senior Nursing officer over a ten year period from 1986 to 1996. During this time he joined two United Nations peacekeeping operations: in 1993 he served with the Force Communications Unit (FCU), UNTAC, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia; and in 1995 he served as the Operating Theatre Nursing officer with the Australian Medical Support Force in Rwanda (UNAMIR II). While in Rwanda, he was awarded the Nursing Service Cross for outstanding devotion and competency in the performance of nursing duties.
