Handwritten original letters written by Corporal Horace A Parton to his family while on active service with the 5 Battalion Headquarters. Parton was a signal runner and describes in his correspondence the offensives at Pozieres, Ypres, Bapaume and Messines. Parton also discusses his support for Prime Minister William Hughes' 1916 referendum on conscription.
