Collection relating to Gavin Long, War Correspondent and General Editor of the 1939-1945 War Official History, 1937-1978.

The collection consists of notebooks, diaries, correspondence and newscuttings about Long's appointment as War Correspondent for the "Sydney Morning Herald" and covering the early war period in Europe, the Middle East and Australia. Later material deals with his work as general editor and his activities in later life. It also contains an untitled manuscript and personal correspondence.
