Description

Diary of Scotsman who enlisted in the AIF in Sydney. Describes training at Randwick, embarkation, assembly of convoy at Sydney and sea voyage to Alexandria via Colombo. Records the Sydney-Emden battle, drill, heat, food, author's impressions of Australians. Further describes desert march in Egypt, Lemnos, and naval bombardment prior to the landing at Gallipoli.
