File of papers relating to the First World War service of Brigadier General John Monash, 4th Infantry Brigade. This file, originally part of Book 12, covers 3 April 1916 to 30 April 1916 and includes several draft lectures to the officers of the 4th Brigade, a joint address by Major General Cox and Brigadier Generals Monash and Glasfurd, an outline of tactical schemes for use of the Lewis Gun, an extensive report on lessons drawn from the 'Verdun Actions', and a program for the first ANZAC Day, held at Serapeum, Egypt.
