Description
Silver ring featuring a pair of hearts with three points, like a crown, above the hearts. In each point of the 'crown' is a red stone. Another three small red stones are set into the band on either side of the hearts.
History / Summary
This ring, originally contained in a small tin, was sent to the donor's mother in Australia by a soldier friend during the First World War. The tin had the date '23/9/15' written on it, but was sent to her from France, at a later date. She was told that the ring had belonged to an unidentified young German soldier who had been killed. The stones on the ring are possibly garnets.
